Camps Bay and Cape Town Attractions

Camps Bay is a trendy resort with excellent restaurants, bars and cafés, as well as its own Theatre. Sipping sun downers on Camps Bay Beach or at one of the many bars and restaurants whilst watching the sun go down is a truly memorable experience ...

Cape Rose Cottage Camps Bay

Past the city centre, beyond Lions Head, Camps Bay hugs the narrow stretch of coast between the Atlantic Ocean and the towering Twelve Apostles mountain range. Camps Bays palm-lined beachfront has a permanent holiday atmosphere with its many coffee shops, cafés and restaurants.

The back of Table Mountain, the cableway and the Twelve Apostles form a backdrop to this spacious family beach. The surf is strong and there is no resident lifeguard, but a rescue helicopter patrols regularly. The grass verge flanked by the tidal pool offers shady, wind-free barbecue spots. The beach is exposed to the wind and unsuitable for paddle skiers and surfers. Shops, restaurants, a hotel, chemist, banks and police station are close to the beach.

Cape Rose Cottage is centrally located and convenient for exploring the many magnificent sights that Cape Town has to offer. Close by are the stunning beaches of Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno, and the major Cape Town attractions of the V&A Waterfront, Robben Island, Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch Gardens. The fishing village of Hout Bay and spectacular Chapman’s Peak drive are a short distance away.
A 40 minute drive over Chapman’s Peak takes you to the False Bay resorts and the popular fishing village of Kalk Bay and its selection of antique, art and craft shops. Close by is the naval port of Simonstown and the famous and unique Boulders Beach with its Jack Ass Penguins. Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope National Park is one of the Cape’s major tourist attractions and is popularly perceived as being the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans although geographically the Indian Ocean joins the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Agulhas.

The magnificent Cape Winelands regions of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek are only a 40 minute drive away and a day spent in the country sampling the different wines and lunching at one of the excellent restaurants is simply a day not to be missed. Venturing further up country? We recommended this site for other accommodation in South Africa.
